The State of Bahia is located in Northeastern Brazil, with 600 miles of coastline bathed by the Atlantic Ocean, two bays and more than 100 islands. Bahia is blessed with a great variety of tourist destinations and it is constantly increasing its share of the vast market in ecological tourism thanks to its stunningly beautiful landscapes, unique ecosystems and environmental preservation areas, created to guarantee the integrity of the environment. The climate is mild, with an average annual temperature of 27ºC, the sun shines almost year-round, which invigorates the spirit and tans the skin of a hospitable and friendly people who favor brightly-colored clothes, believe in many gods and make life a never-ending festival.

Salvador, the first capital of Brazil and the capital of the state of Bahia, is the place to start. With its exotic culture and vibrant social life, Salvador is a city that has a lot to offer:

Beautiful examples of colonial ad and architecture; beaches; African culture and a very intriguing cultural life. No doubt an important part of its charm comes from the very strong African influence. Salvador's colonial ensemble is the largest collection of Baroque architecture in Latin America. The Pelourinho or Pelô, as the old city is locally known, is an incredible center for leisure activities, with lively music, art galleries and shops.
